Summer varieties of apple trees

Ripening of such fruits occurs in June-August. They are sweeter when compared to later varieties of apples, but their flesh is not firm. It is advisable to use such fruits immediately, because they do not differ in long-term keeping quality - maximum 20 days. In addition, they quickly overripe, so they are not suitable for transportation. They will retain their appearance for a maximum of 30 days after harvest.

The fruits grown in the Leningrad region contain a lot of vitamin C when compared with fruits grown in the south of the country. Ideal for conservation.

Such varieties are frost-resistant, but they are afraid of sudden changes in temperature, which often occurs in the spring.


This variety has been known for a long time and it ripens at the end of summer. The tree has a medium height and a spherical crown. It quickly produces fruits that are round in shape with a ribbed surface. The weight of one apple is 100g.

This variety is one of the new ones that was bred in 1982, but only got on the register almost two decades later. Despite this, gardeners from the Leningrad region have already fallen in love with him.

The tree is short with a ball-shaped crown, which is easy to care for. The apples are slightly ribbed, almost half-colored with stripes of a violet-red hue. The pulp is white and juicy, ideal for making desserts and drinks.

The first crop can be harvested from a four-year tree in September. Each year, one plant produces 100 kg of fruit, if properly cared for. The culture is frost and scab resistant.

Antonovka golden
